A delightful vegan recipe for buffalo wings. The perfect snack served as a starter or with some quinoa as a main dish. Yes it’s a lil naughty, but very nice 😉
Ingredients:
1 head Cauliflower
1 cup All-purpose flour
1 ½ cup Soda water
1 tsp Paprika
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking powder
½ cup Tomato sauce
25ml Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Red tabasco
½ cup BBQ sauce
¼ cup Brown sugar
Cooking oil for frying
Method:
• Put oil in pot on stove and heat up to 170’celcius.
• Cut cauliflower into small bite size chunks.
• Mix flour, baking powder, salt and paprika together in a bowl and add the soda water to create a loose batter.
• In a medium pot, mix sugar, tomato sauce, tobacco, Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce together and bring to the boil to make your Derky sauce.
• Dip the cauliflower into the batter and fry in the oil until golden brown and cooked through.
• Remove from the oil and fold through the sticky derky sauce to coat.
• Serve immediately as a finger snack or with savory quinoa or rice.
