Steamed Vegetables and Tofu Patty Recipe

Steamed Vegetables are often associated with being boring and tasteless. This recipe uses vegetables that are edible raw or cooked. We have added a tasty dressing and a burger patty for more flavour. Be careful not to over cook your vegetables, soggy steamed vegetables are terrible.


Handful of broccoli florets
2 Carrots cut into julienne
5 Sugar snap peas cut into julienne
3 Baby marrows cut into julienne
Handful of cauliflower florets
Bunch of sunflower sprouts
Lemon from half a lemon
4 tofu burgers
Cooked brown rice
Tahini dressing (see tahini dressing recipe)
Black pepper
Sea salt


Cook the short grain brown rice and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Brush to tofu burgers and the baking tray with olive oil.
Bake for 25 minutes.
Dice the burgers up into large pieces
Once all the vegetables have been chopped add them to your steamer and steam for 5-6 minutes.
Over cooked vegetables are not nice and most of their flavour has been cooked out.
Once the vegetables are cooked (firm and crunchy) drizzle the fresh lemon and a dash of olive oil over them in a mixing bowl


In four open bowls spoon in the brown rice
Top with steamed vegetables and sunflower sprouts
Add the tofu burger pieces
Drizzle tahini dressing over each meal and serve
